The Jeweled Gaze

The Jeweled Gaze

Original Painting by Levan Mosiashvili

A mesmerizing portrait where regal elegance, expressive color, and richly textured surfaces converge.

In The Jeweled Gaze, Georgian artist Levan Mosiashvili presents a striking close-up portrait of a mysterious crowned figure, whose luminous golden eyes and contemplative expression command immediate attention.

The figure's warm terracotta complexion emerges from an intensely textured crimson and burnt-orange background. An emerald-green crown, embellished with circular ornaments, introduces a bold contrast, while cascading strands of blue and silver-toned jewels frame the face with an intricate decorative rhythm.

The painting's tactile surface is especially compelling. Raised contours, layered pigments, and expressive markings give the portrait a sculptural presence, allowing light and shadow to reveal new details across its surface.

Through simplified forms, deliberate asymmetry, and an extraordinary interplay of color, Mosiashvili creates a portrait that feels both ancient and contemporary.

The figure's enigmatic gaze invites reflections on identity, dignity, beauty, and the symbolism of adornment. Rather than presenting a conventional likeness, the artist constructs an expressive character whose presence extends beyond the boundaries of the canvas.

The Jeweled Gaze is a distinctive original artwork for collectors who appreciate powerful figurative compositions, tactile painting, and bold contemporary expression.
